“Build Better, Live Better”
This has been SHERA's enduring commitment since the first day of its business, growing steadily into its 50th year.
SHERA began with the intention of making ‘home’ a ‘sanctuary’ for families and loved ones. Regardless of whether your perfect house is, quality of life must always come first. SHERA’s building materials are part of making every dream sanctuary a reality. Beyond offering high-quality, affordable materials with assuring to strive for excellence worldwide, SHERA has also embedded environmental friendliness into every product from the very beginning and continues to do so to this day.
And here are 10 stories of SHERA's ‘Green Soul,’ where innovation meets design to make every home-building project eco-friendly, leading to the phrase: the more homes we build, the more sustainable the world becomes.
- Embracing the Green Soul from the very first step.
SHERA began as a family business producing roofing tiles under the well-known brand ‘Ha Huang,’ with the familiar slogan ‘Ha Huang – Durable, Worry-Free.’ Recognizing the dangers of commonly used asbestos as a carcinogen, the development of ‘Fiber Cement’ technology replaced asbestos with cellulose fibers mixed with cement. SHERA sources this cellulose from sustainable plantations, helping to expand forested areas. From its very first step, SHERA has moved forward in harmony with its Green Soul philosophy.

- ‘SHERA Wood’ – A building material that has been pioneering sustainability ahead of its time.
Starting with roofing, SHERA later expanded its fiber cement materials to create 'Fiber Cement wood,' a synthetic wood or wood substitute designed to offer the natural texture of real wood combined with superior durability that eliminates the typical problems associated with natural wood. SHERA was the first to produce 'SHERA Floor Planks,' the first thick wood innovation in Thailand in 2005, and expanded its product line to cover all aspects of home construction, including floor planks, wall planks, eaves, strips, fences, and stairs. In 2014, SHERA reaffirmed its leadership in innovation and sustainability by launching Thailand's first 'Color Through' floor planks, featuring cutting-edge color-integration technology within the wood.
- Committed to achieving Net Zero, recorded in the 'Green Policy.
From generation to generation, SHERA has embodied the spirit of environmental stewardship, continuing a production process that upholds the three pillars of sustainability: environment, society, and governance. Through the Green Policy, SHERA is committed to taking concrete actions to reduce both direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions, aiming for carbon neutrality and achieving Net Zero Emissions. To date, SHERA has successfully reduced carbon dioxide emissions by more than 74,425 tons per year, equivalent to planting 7,800,000 trees.
- Responding to the policy with the largest Solar Rooftop in ASEAN.
For more than half a decade, SHERA has adjusted its production process according to the Green Policy by using biomass energy as a substitute for coal. Additionally, we have modified our production process to utilize electricity from clean energy, thereby reducing indirect greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 2 emissions). This has been achieved through the installation of solar panels in the fiber cement factory, with a total capacity of 15.6 megawatts. This capacity ranks among the highest in Thailand and Southeast Asia.

- Enhanced efficiency with FyberTec technology.
In addition to fiber cement wood, SHERA also manufactures “SHERA Board,” a fiber cement board suitable for ceilings, walls, and floors. Most recently, they upgraded to 'SHERA Board Pro,' which was produced using FyberTec technology—the first and only in the world. This technology helps arrange the wood fibers in a more structured arrangement, enhancing the board’s toughness to be four times stronger than other fiber cement boards. This increased durability helps reduce construction waste.
- Driving the circular economy with ‘recycled materials’.
The core of the circular economy is to reuse, recycle, and maximize the lifespan of materials. In addition to technologies that help reduce waste and minimize resource consumption, SHERA has also collaborated with its research team to develop product formulations for building materials that incorporate recycled materials into the production process.

- Pioneering the world's first 'low-carbon fiber cement.
In 2023, SHERA initiated the development of the world's first low-carbon fiber cement product by combining policies and technologies to create a Green Product. This innovation reduces direct and indirect carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by more than 22% compared to previous methods. Currently, SHERA employs low-carbon cement innovation across all its products.
- Incorporating design to meet the Green Living trend for sustainable living.
Design is SHERA’s expertise, and it has been applied to conform with current home décor trends. Today, people increasingly favor connecting nature with interior spaces through the concept of “Biophilic Design,” which integrates the essence and breath of nature into decorative materials. SHERA is committed to designing the texture of fiber cement wood to capture the aesthetics of real wood, especially in the SHERA Two-Tone Series, which emphasizes natural wood-like colors, offering an elegant and warm feel. This reflects a lifestyle where humans and nature can coexist harmoniously.
- SHERA takes on the role of a key player in meeting green building standards.
Products are certified for environmentally friendly production and materials, both nationally and internationally, spanning Asia, Europe, and America. For example, SHERA is certified with ISO 14001 for environmental management and is the first and only company in Thailand to receive the global Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) label, according to ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards. Additionally, SHERA meets LEED standards, Thailand’s Carbon Label, and Green Labels in Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines.
- Celebrating 50 years with SHERA Green Soul, passing on the spirit of sustainability.
From its inception to the present, SHERA has maintained a close connection between innovation and nature. On its 50th anniversary, SHERA shares the story of SHERA Green Soul—the green spirit of sustainability that has been the core of the company’s business since its founding. This spirit is embedded in four key dimensions: (1) Green Policy, (2) Green Technology, (3) Green Product, and (4) Green Living. These pillars ensure that every operation prioritizes environmental responsibility, social impact, and governance, fulfilling the company’s original mission to make homes a true 'sanctuary' for generations to come.

Over the past five decades, SHERA has embodied sustainability with a green spirit, growing with a deep respect for nature and preserving its abundance through cutting-edge innovation. This spirit has also expanded regionally, with new production branches being established in the Philippines and India, expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2025. Additionally, SHERA has formed a joint venture, PT RB SHERA SOLUSI BANGUNAN INDONESIA, to launch the “RB SHERA” brand in Indonesia. This reinforces SHERA's commitment to becoming the leading fiber composite innovator in the Asia region.
The core values that still abide inside our pride and passion are 'Build Better, Live Better.'
